I realize that you are still working on 2013 year end, auditors and dealing with our cold and snowy winter, but if you are still using Sage 100 (formerly MAS90 and MAS200) version 4.40, you need to start planning for an upgrade. As of 9/30/2014 Sage will be retiring version 4.40 and suspending support and release of any new patches or service updates. Sage issued the last 4.40 year end interim release download and tax table update on 12/31/2013.
Our suggestion is that you plan for the pre-upgrade analysis as soon as you have completed your year end duties ideally around the end of the 1st quarter and then we will plan for your upgrade during the 2nd quarter or early 3rd quarter 2014.
Another important reason to consider upgrading is that you want to insure that as you add new hardware and operating systems that your version is compliant and supported. Please remember when planning for the addition of a new Windows 7 or Windows 8 workstation or new server, that your IT professional contact our support department to request a copy of the Sage 100 Supported Platform Matrix. It will outline what is supported and with which versions.
If you would like more information on the new features and functionality in subsequent releases, information on upgrading and scheduling a pre-upgrade analysis, or a current Supported Platform Matrix, please email Pam Scott at pam@oasisky.com.
Finally, it is important to keep in mind that if you have custom modifications or add-on’s it can increase the lead time of an upgrade up to 4 – 8 weeks.
