For the 17th year, Louisville Business First has calculated the 50 fastest-growing private companies in the Louisville area. From media to tech companies, financial services to health care providers, it’s clear that extraordinary revenue growth isn’t confined to one employment sector.
So how does a business make the cut?
Fast 50 companies must be independent, for-profit and privately held. They must release a three-year operating sales history and show an average of at least $1 million in revenue for the three most recent fiscal years. And they must be headquartered in Bullitt, Henry, Jefferson, Meade, Nelson, Oldham, Shelby, Spencer or Trimble counties in Kentucky; or Clark, Floyd, Harrison or Washington counties in Indiana.
Dean Dorton, our accounting firm partner for this program, analyzes revenue information submitted by entrants. And the 50 companies with the biggest average percentage of revenue growth for those years are named to our list.
One honoree – Appriss Inc.– has appeared on all 17 of our Fast 50 lists!
But who tops this year’s Fast 50?
You’ll have to wait until Thursday, Oct. 27 when Business First will reveal the ranking of each company at our Fast 50 awards luncheon at the Galt House. On Friday, Oct. 28, we’ll also publish revenue figures and share more about the specific growth strategies of these companies in our Fast 50 publication, which will be distributed with our weekly edition.
